Corporate and private group experience days with a difference less than an hour from London

Here at Joy Farms we offer businesses the chance to bring small teams together to spend the day away from the office. We help them de-stress with a dose of the outdoors and take part in learning a new craft. Our craft studio is set on our 14 acre farm and enables staff to soak up nature whilst engaging in an activity.

We tailor experience day to suit the business, often with groups of 8-10 employees at a time. Businesses can choose one or more beginner-friendly crafts like Spoon carving, Botanical printing, willow Basket weaving. We host the activity on our farm in the lovely Surrey Hills and put on a rustic fireside lunch.

You can choose to immerse yourself into a few crafts or spend more time mastering just one. Depending on your time and budget, we can customise the experience to fit you and your team.

  • Full day of 1 craft

    A real experience. Teams spend a whole day learning to make something from start to finish - whether it’s spoon carving from a log, or making a basket. Teams get a proper time to bond, and lunch around the ope fire. Size of groups depend on the craft/activity and range from 7 for spoon carving to 10 for Willow sculpture weaving.

  • Half Day craft

    Let your team get a taste of a craft with a 3hr workshop. We sometimes pre-prepare part of it, but they do the rest. Choose from crafts like Bird feeder willow weaving, spoon carving, or weaving a small basket. Tea & locally roasted coffee by the open fire bonding included. Ideal size of groups are 8-10, we can run 2 groups in parallel with multiple instructors.

  • 1-2 hr Taster

    Less time? We also offer 1-2 hr tasters like whittling, Botanical printing, Nature Journalling, Bird feeder willow weaving. Usually teams make something small. Tea & locally roasted coffee by the open fire bonding included. Groups of 8 to 20 depending on the craft/activity. Larger groups can split into sub-groups. Instructor availability dependent.

  • Multiple activities

    Do you have a larger group? or want to try a few activities? We can create a custom day. Multiple taster crafts of activities. You choose a selection of activities e.g. Bird Feeder willow weaving & forest Bathing or woodland walk? For larger groups e.g. 20+ smaller groups often swap half way and come together for breaks.

As well as the listed upcoming courses, we have a number of experts in their craft that we can arrange subjects include:

  • Greenwood Spoon carving, Bowl turning, Basket weaving, Botanical printing, nature journalling and so much more.

  • As well as the crafts, we can also arrange activities like guided woodland walks, Forest bathing, foraging and Sound baths.
