Here at Joy Farms we are grateful to be the custodians of 15 acres and like to do our bit to encourage nature and local wildlife to thrive here. We pride ourselves on considering the environment and being sustainable. So we were delighted to be awarded “Sustainability Champion Award🏅2023” - Silver for Biodiversity & Sustainability.

Criteria included: planting trees use of garden made compost & peat alternatives, repair, re-use, recycle equipement, plant pollinators & protecting wildlife habitats.

West Horsley in Bloom Judges complemented Joy Farms on the work they’ve done. Especially in planting nearly 1,000 broadleaf trees & wildflower seeds throughout the farm and they were also impressed with the number of little homes we’ve installed including bat boxes, door mouse boxes, owl boxes and so many more.

We were delighted to also win the Non-residential Silver award

Sustainability within our craft courses

At the Joy Farms craft Hub, we try to maintain the theme of sustainability throughout. The wood we use for our workshops is sourced locally in Surrey ensuring a strong connection to our community and a deep respect for our environment. 🌱💚The timber comes from trees that have either naturally fallen or posed a potential danger. We're committed to responsible harvesting, as preserving our beautiful surroundings is paramount to us. 🍃🌳

By utilizing this sustainable approach, we're able to breathe new life into these fallen trees. 🌿✨ Our team and students passionately transform them into works of art🎨💫

Choosing local and environmentally-conscious materials not only helps protect the Earth's precious resources but also supports our local community. Together, we're fostering a sustainable future where creativity and nature thrive hand in hand. 🙌🌍💚

Finally we also pride ourselves in the coffee we serve. It is locally roasted in Surrey by Chimney Fire coffee. They are passionate about their coffee being ethically sourced and sustainable. They recently became BCorp Certified. Just as important… we and our customers think it tastes great too.

We were pleased to host the Chimney Fire team recently for a Corporate team bonding day and a spot of spoon carving which the whole team loved.

If we sound like your kind of place. We’d love you to join us on our incredible journey of crafting, rooted in sustainability and driven by love for our environment. Together, we can make a difference, one handcrafted piece at a time. 🌱💪💕
