Who is this class for? Class sizes are 6-7 people and aimed at adults. We can accomodate 12-16 year olds if accompanied by an adult.

Where is the class? The class takes place in the beautiful setting of our craft workshop on our family farm nestled on the edge of Sheepleas nature reserve and at the foot of  The Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

What kind of day will it be?This is aimed at being a creative day “making”. We aim to make it a relaxed pace, however we have lots to teach you. The craft workspace is spacious, rustic & surrounded by nature. It’s undercover in a former farm building with open sides, next to an open fire in a small adjacent copse. Lunch is generally cooked on the same fire and served there.

The kettle is generally always on the go - on the fire, so students can take a break whenever they feel and soak in the surrounding nature.

Aimed at beginners. Most students will be first timers, some may be returning to further practice their skills and gain more experience. Please bear in mind basket making can be tough on the hands, so if you have a loss of strength in your hands you might find this class difficult.

About your instructor: Ellie Morgan is a highly skilled, full time basket weaver and crafter. Read more her about in the Team

Timings: We ask students to arrive 09:15 for a 09:30 start. We aim to finish about 17:30. Depending on the group we may finish a little earlier or later.

We will guide you through the steps of making a basket of your very own. (Our goal is for everyone leaves with a finished basket on the day, depending on the group we sometimes run over time or may agree as a group to make lunch a bit shorter).

See our FAQs page for more detail of what to bring, wear and timings

Reviews: “This venue really is a special place and you can tell the owners have put their heart and soul into making it as warm and welcoming as possible. Set in the beautiful Surrey Hills in an open sided barn, it really is a peaceful and mindful experience. Great food and atmosphere where i spent the day learning about basket making. I will most definitely return!.” Laura, Kent, May22
