£95.00
Full / Sold Out

An opportunity to immerse yourself in the art of flower arranging here in The Surrey Hills countryside with our guest floristry expert from Kingfisher Farm.

In this sociable workshop you will learn about conditioning your flowers and foliage, watch the florist demonstrate the art of creating a natural, garden-style bouquet using seasonal, British-grown blooms. Learn about colour theory, composition and the beauty of using seasonal flowers. Then it will be your turn to create. You will be given your own florist’s selection bucket of blooms, and guided step-by-step on how to make your arrangement, echoing the season.

At the end of your floristry experience, you will take away a beautiful hand tie arrangement, uniquely personal to you or its intended recipient. You will also have the skills to create many more beautiful floral arrangements in the future … and hopefully a feeling of peace and harmony that comes from time spent surrounded by nature!

All materials and tools provided. This course is suitable for beginners. No experience required.

What to expect
Will begin with an optional short stroll around the farm, introducing you to the possibilities of greenery foraging from the hedgerows – twigs and sprigs provide the unique frame for many an arrangement. You will be shown the all-important methods of conditioning your foliage, and we’ll explain why this is important.

You will learn:

  • How to condition flowers and foliage

  • How to hold the blooms correctly

  • How different blooms relate to one another

  • How to create an arrangement that echoes nature

  • Colour theory basics

During your time here, enjoy the surrounds of nature. The kettle is always on the fire, so you’ll be able to help yourself to tea, coffee and treats by the open fire (weather permitting) during breaks. We will be based in our craft studio at the top of the farm, it is covered, however we are open to the elements, so please dress accordingly.
